2 Milly "Milly Rocks" his way to Epic Games Lawsuit
We all know the dance. Everybody does it, or TRIES to do it. The “Milly Rock” has been a big dance for about two and a half years now originating from the rapper 2 Milly from Brooklyn, NY (shoutout to NY!). His dance has been going crazy since it came out, unfortunately for him the biggest game on the market, Fortnite Battle Royale, decided to basically take the dance from him and put it in their game in their season 5 iteration. However, in the game the dance is called the “Swipe It”, it was included in the Season 5 Battle Pass. It cost $10 to purchase the pass.
When I see people playing the game on Twitch I see a lot of people doing that emote in particular, so it is safe to say that Epic Games has made a lot of money off this dance alone.
Looks like 2 Milly caught wind of this not too long ago. He said that his daughter had to let him know when she saw it and asked him, “Hey daddy, isn’t that your dance?” and he figured out that he had to finally do something about it because he hasn’t seen any paperwork or anything. Well it just came out 2 days ago that he is suing Epic Games for blatantly taking his dance and putting it in their game. Even though they called it something else, it is literally the same dance and I personally thinks he deserves to get paid. 2 Milly said he doesn’t want to ruin the game, but he just wants the compensation Epic Games made off his dance which I don’t think is a lot to ask for. Only thing I think Epic Games can come back with is that 2 Milly never trademarked that dance so it is technically up for grabs, and they can probably say that they called it the “Swipe It” so it’s not a copyright. I think Epic Games does need to be taught a lesson though so I hope 2 Milly does get his bag and wins this lawsuit. I’m guessing he already got his coins from 2K Games because his dance has been in that game since NBA 2K18. Epic Games is not the first offender of this, but Fortnite is the biggest game on the market right now so it is obvious that all eyes are going to be all on Epic Games for now. Now Bloccboy JB needs to do the same for his famous “Shoot” dance that has been in Fortnite for a while now
