Comic Con @ Home Announcement!

What’s going on everybody, Wav3yGawd here! As you all know back in April, COVID-19 took the life of another beloved convention in San Diego Comic Con. Since then there were no updates on if they were going to reschedule it for later in the year or anything, until now. Comic Con recently announced their Comic Con @ Home replacement taking place from July 22-26th where you can experience Comic Con right from your living room and the best news of all is, it’s FREE!

The event will pretty much be the same except all digital where there will be panels for movies, TV, gaming, comics and much more! One major thing that brings the fans, other than the awesome cosplay, is the exclusive merchandise you can buy only while attending the convention. According to Comic Con, they will have an online Exhibit Hall that will have everyone’s favorite exhibitors offering promotions, specials and limited time products, so it is essentially very similar to how it usually is at the convention except you can now shop from the comfort of your own home. Comic Con also said they will have a Masquerade, gaming and many other activities in which fans can participate from home as well! Hall H also won’t be a thing this year, but that doesn’t mean other panels won’t be happening. As of the time and date of us posting this article, no panels have been announced but I am pretty sure they’re coming. Collider announced they will be having 2 panels as a matter of fact, but not sure what day or time it will happen.

The San Diego Comic Con spokesperson David Glanzer had this to say, For the first time in our 50-year history, we are happy to welcome virtually anyone from around the globe. Though stay-at-home conditions makes this a very difficult time, we see this as an opportunity to spread some joy and strengthen our sense of community.”

This seems like a good step forward that Comic Con is taking this year, even though I am still a little confused about the online Exhibit Hall, but it was said that they will give out more details as the convention date gets closer. What do y’all think about this Comic Con @ Home?! How do y’all think it will work and will you be attending this year? Let us know! Some of the Phucaname squad actually went to San Diego Comic Con in 2018, you can view those pics in our Photo Gallery! Until next time y’all, PEACE!
