Everything Important from the Nintendo Direct Mini 3.26.2020

What’s going on everybody, Wav3yGawd here! This one slipped under the cracks for all of us here at Phucaname but squad member CorneredFOX made sure to let us know that there was a mini Nintendo Direct today. Once I checked it out, there were a couple of things to unpack and we here at Phucaname HAD to let you know about it in case you are living under a rock and didn’t see it yet.

First order of business, if you were a fan of Xenoblade Chronicles on the Nintendo Wii U, then you will be happy to hear that there will be a version coming to the Nintendo Switch! It will be called Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition and this will not just be a port. The music has been re-recorded for the Switch version as well as a new adventure that you will be able to play through with Shulk!

It also looks like 2K Games will be joining forces with Nintendo to add 3 major games from their library over to the Switch library! This includes, BioShock: The Collection, Borderlands Legendary Collection (Borderlands, Borderlands 2 and Borderlands The Pre-Sequel Bundle), and XCom 2 will all be coming to the Switch the same day that Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition on May 29!

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3, also has a new DLC Expansion that includes the Fantastic 4 and their arch enemy, Dr. Doom out now in addition to the other two Expansions! It looks pretty fun, I personally haven’t played any of the Ultimate Alliance games. But if I by a miracle finish my backlog of games I might pick this one up...here's hoping!

But staying on the topic of DLC news, the latest Nintendo title that dropped last week, Animal Crossing: New Horizons has DLC coming your way. If you purchased the game there was an update that was made available where 1 Zipper T Bunny will visit your personal island in celebration of “Bunny Day” in early April, just in time for Easter! You will be able to hunt down eggs that zipper hid in various places, you can also craft limited time items from the series. "Bunny Day" only comes around once a year and this time it will be April 1-12! Along with that, they announced ANOTHER free update in April which will have an Earth Day event.

But wait...Nintendo Direct wouldn’t be super special without some Super Smash Bros. Ultimate news! They announced a new fighter will be coming to battle in the 2nd Challenger pack. The new fighter will be from the game ARMS but they didn’t reveal which character yet so I guess we'll just have to stay tuned along with you. The Ring Fit Adventure game is also getting an update which includes a new "Rhythm" mode that looks similar to the "Tap Tap" mobile game application. The mode will have 17 music tracks, from games such as Super Mario Odyssey, Splatoon 2 and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The Ring fit voice will also now have a female voice option and will be able to change languages in the settings and now jogging will now be an option in both custom and quick play modes.

Those are a lot of games and updates coming to the Nintendo Switch, so we will definitely not be bored during this national quarantine. At the end of the Nintendo Direct, they also shared more of the backstory of the new expansion passes from Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield, Part I The Isle of Armor and Part 2 The Crown Tundra. Check out our write up of that here if you haven’t done so already. If you have a switch already are you excited for this year!? I don’t know about y’all, but I just finished the Trials of Mana demo yesterday and it is making me consider purchasing that game. I know I am going to download the demo of The Legend of Heroes: Trials of Cold Steel III right now! Until next time y’all PEACE!
