EVO Online announced, Smash Ultimate got axed!

What’s going on everybody, Wav3yGawd here! Covid-19 has made social distancing almost the new norm and with that many events have been cancelled as you have seen in the past couple of months, including EVO 2020. Well, not really cancelled just all online, you can check out the letter that the event wrote to the public on our social media pages (@phucaname). Today, they have officially announced EVO online! However, it looks like one game that has been there for many years has gotten the boot. Yup, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will not be participating this year.

I can say that I am not surprised by this revealing, if you play Smash then you know that it doesn’t have the best track record online and I would assume they want the #1 fighting tournament in the world to run as smoothly as possible. The tournament will run for 5 weekends (July 4 - 5, July 11 - 12, July 18 - 19, July 25 - 26, July 31- August 2), and they will even have 4 open online tournaments for Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath, Killer Instinct, Them’s Fightin’ Herds and SkullGirls: 2nd Encore! You can see more in the video that they uploaded below! Any of y’all going to enter the online tournaments?! Or are y’all more disappointed in the fact that Smash Ultimate won’t be there this year?! Let us know. Until next time y’all, PEACE!
