Mario Celebrates 35 Years with Nintendo!
What’s goin on everybody, Wav3yGawd here! Mario turned 35 this year and you know Nintendo was going to do it BIG for their plumber Mascot! A couple months ago we reported on our social media (@phucaname on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook) that there was a rumor that for the anniversary that Nintendo would bring 3 classic Mario games to the Switch. Well they just had a surprise Direct focusing solely on Mario and they announced a lot of things soon to come!
Since Mario turned 35, Nintendo wanted to take it back to where it started with Super Mario Bros which launched on the NES but is selling it in the form of the original Game & Watch handheld that has been revamped with a full color LCD. People who purchase the handheld will be able to play both the original Super Mario Bros, Super Mario Bros: The Lost Levels which was released in Japan as Super Mario Bros 2 and an updated version of Game & Watch: Ball which will star Mario!
The Game & Watch handheld will be available on November 13th in limited production for $49.99. Nintendo also announced that a new title called Super Mario 35 will be released on October 1st and will also be limited until March 21, 2021. This game will be exclusive to Nintendo Switch online members, some are comparing the game to a battle royale but you can be the judge of that by looking at the trailer below.
Super Mario 3d World and Bowser’s Fury will also be coming to the Nintendo Switch on February 12, 2021!
Mario Kart has always been the most well known racing game since it came out on the SNES back in 1992. Now you can take the action right to your living room in the form of RC cars and build a track yourself while using the Switch to navigate! The game is called Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit and here is how Nintendo describes it:
“The physical kart responds to boosts in-game and in the real world, stops when hit with an item and can be affected in different ways depending on the race. Players place gates to create a custom course layout in their home, where the only limit is their imagination. Race against Koopalings in Grand Prix, unlock a variety of course customizations and costumes for Mario or Luigi, and play with up to four players in local multiplayer mode.”
Home Circuit will be available October 16th!
Nintendo has a lot of events and different accessories coming out to celebrate of their beloved plumber including, rewards on the Nintendo e-shop, clothing in the NYC Nintendo Store and his upcoming sneaker colorway in the J. Cole Puma RS-Dreamers!
This along with Super Mario All Stars, will be a bundle of Super Mario Bros 1, 2 and 3 with both audio and visual enhancements! This will be available later today in the Super NES Nintendo Switch online section of the Nintendo e-shop.
However, the biggest news coming from the surprise Mario Direct is related to what was said earlier this year on our social media pages, what everyone was reporting was a leak. Nintendo will have a bundle called Super Mario 3D All Stars which features Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine and Super Mario Galaxy!! All games will be in higher resolution and will be optimized for smoother gameplay for the Nintendo Switch. The original soundtracks will come with each game as well and will work like Super Smash Bros Ultimate where you can listen to the soundtracks however you like!
Super Mario 3D All Stars will be available for a limited time from September 18th to the end of March of next year!
