Nintendo Switch Direct 2.13.2019 (Everything you need to know)

What’s going on y’all, it’s your mans Wav3yGawd here. On February 13th, Nintendo had another Direct for the Nintendo Switch to inform us what exciting games, DLCs and extensions will be coming to us later this year. It looks like Nintendo will be coming with some heat this year that you all should be excited about. With new IPs coming this year, I don’t see a reason why Nintendo won’t be getting some of my money. If you didn’t get to catch the direct don’t worry, Phucaname is here to tell you all the important news that was discussed.

Nintendo has a LOT in store for everybody this year. Updates, new IPs, more games coming to the console, DLCs. If you don’t have a switch, now would be a good time to make that purchase especially with the new games coming to the switch such as:

Box Boy & Box Girl (April 26)

Dragon Quest 11: Echoes of an Elusive Age Definitive Edition (Fall)

StarLink (April 2019)

Rune Factory 4 Special (2019)

Dead by Daylight (Fall)

Mortal Kombat 11

Assassin’s Creed III Remastered (May 21)

Final Fantasy VII (March 26)

Final Fantasy IX (Available now!)

Chucobo Mystery Dungeon: Every Buddy (March 20)

Nintendo is really gearing up so you can play everything on their console which is a very smart move on their part. Games like Assassin’s Creed III remastered will have the whole completed game and DLC included with the $60 purchase with mechanics that will adapt with the Switches controls.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will also be releasing their 3.0 update in the spring. As many of you remember, Joker from the Persona series is set to be one the first Fighters available if you purchased the Fighters DLC pass, and he will be coming by the end of April in the update.

Now along with new games being added to the Nintendo Switch library, a whole lot of new IPs from the company has got release dates, one game in particular that I am looking forward to which is Daemon x Machina was supposed to come out in the Spring, but due to more development the game got pushed back to the summer. I am not mad at that though, if you have to spend time to make it more fire, fine with me! However, there is a new demo out on the Nintendo e-Store which I will be getting soon where you can play 4 missions from the game. Fellow squad member The One True N00b already got a chance to play it, he says it can be difficult and has some bugs and minor fixes but that the game is still good, that is all I needed to here! However that is not the only new IP that got a release date or that got announced for the first time. New games that got announced are:

DeathRune (Chapter 1) - February 28th; first chapter is a FREE download, other chapters will cost money, demo available now!

Daemon x Machina (Summer)

Yoshi’s Crafted World (March 29), demo available now!

Fire Emblem Three Houses (July 26)

Tetris 99 (Free Download available now!)

Super Mario Maker 2 (June)

Marvel’s Ultimate Alliance 3 (Summer)

Disney Tsum Tsum Festival (Later this year)

Oninaki (Summer)

Astral Chain (No release date)

Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening (Later this year)

From the list above, Nintendo is really trying to make it their year. The item that caught my eye the most was like I stated before Daemon x Machina because I was looking forward to that since they had the trailer at last years E3 event. However, the newest IP they have coming out called Astral Chain looks super FIRE! The director of Nier: Automata is behind this game as well as the company Platinum Games which means it will be combo heavy, which means they have my money LOL.

All jokes aside, from the gameplay I saw it looks like something I will really enjoy! Oninaki also looks like something that will grab my attention. Nintendo has also been pushing Fire Emblem and hyping it up for the longest so I know this was on many of your radars. Marvel’s Ultimate Alliance 3 and the Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening remake were also huge. This is the first time Ultimate Alliance will be on console, let alone playable since the second one which was made in 2009. This game will be exclusive for Nintendo Switch which is a great move on Nintendo’s part. Lastly, the remake of the Game Boy classic Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening is a great game to add to your Switch collection, taking a great game like that from Game Boy to now playing it in better graphics and gameplay is the dream!

The Nintendo Direct had a lot of news to cover but that was some of the biggest. Did you get to watch the direct yet?! If not, the link is below at the end of this article. Let us know if you all are hype for Nintendo this year. They definitely have my attention! Until next time y’all, PEACE!
