PlayStation 5 event date announced!

What’s going on everybody, Wav3yGawd here! Sony has just announced that they will be holding an event for the PlayStation 5! The event will take place on June 4th at 4:00PM EST/ 1:00PM PT, which will be next Thursday. This timetable is usually around the time that E3 would be happening which could mean that PlayStation could be taking a page out of Nintendo’s handbook.

It is not said if Sony will definitely be showing off the new console but they did say that they will be focusing more on the games coming and the future of gaming in general as it pertains to the PS5! This event is scheduled to be a little over an hour long. Jim Ryan, the CEO and President of Sony Interactive Entertainment stated in a quote, “The games coming to PS5 represent the best in the industry from innovative studios that span the globe. Studios, both larger and smaller, those newer and those more established, all have been hard at work developing games that will showcase the potential of the hardware. This digital showcase will run for a bit more than an hour and, for the first time, we will all be together virtually experiencing the excitement together.” He also said, “This is part of our series of PS5 updates and, rest assured, after next week’s showcase, we will still have much to share with you.” The company already gave us a look at their new wireless controller, a deep dive into the specs of the console and a demo of it running with Unreal Engine 5!
