PlayStation 5 Pro?!?!
What’s goin on everybody, Wav3yGawd here! Yes y’all have read that title correctly, not even a full month since the next gen consoles (Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5) have been out and we ALREADY are hearing rumors about a PS5 Pro, WOW!
Now let me start off by saying that this is just a PATENT it’s not a guarantee at all, but rumor has it Sony Entertainment Interactive have a patent placed that suggests that they have their eyes set on a PS5 Pro and the amount of power it will have will be crazy! The patent describes a console (PS5) that will have not just one but TWO graphics cards similar to a PC set up which is super impressive. Below is the tehnospeak of the patent:
In a multi-GPU simulation environment, frame buffer management may be implemented by multiple GPUs rendering multiple frames of video, or by rendering portions of each frame of video. One of the GPUs controls HDMI frame output by virtue of receiving frame information from the other GPU(s) and reading out complete frames through a physically connected HDMI output port. Or, the outputs of the GPUs can be multiplexed together.
Basically this means that one card would render most of the graphics while the other one would be used to pick up and complete the rest of the image. This is the standard found in most gaming PCs and now putting this in console would be insane for two reasons. One, the graphics and gameplay will be much better and smoother. Two, just know this isn’t going to be cheap!
Gaming companies already take a loss when selling the consoles at $500 but it would be a bigger loss now if they have that price on this rumored PS5 Pro, this is just my opinion. For the record, most PS5 games provided the promise already of 4K gaming at 120 fps, but with this setup in the hypothetical dual GPU console it might actually happen.
As said before, THIS IS JUST A PATENT, nothing has been set in stone yet. My opinion, I think it’s too early to be talking like this because most people haven’t even gotten their hands on the base PS5 because of scalpers and bots and just the pandemic alone so it’s almost like a slap in the face to people already got the console because that might not even be the best version.
