PlayStation State of Play 2.25.21 - Everything you need to know

What’s goin on everybody, Wav3yGawd here. It’s been about 30 minutes since PlayStation ended their most recent State of Play that they announced yesterday. Just like the Nintendo Direct last week, I was hype to see some new games and just to be blown away. While we did get information on new games they announced already, that was just it they announced those games already so they were just informing us on certain dates and to let us know they are still working and finalizing some things. Overall, I thought it was meh to be honest, but like I said they did shed some news on new games coming to the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 and also gave release dates! You can see a list of games they announced with release dates as well as some trailers below.

Games announced

Crash 4 (coming to PS5, can transfer saved data from PS4) - March 12, 2021

Returnal (PS5/PS4) - April 30, 2021

Knockout City (PS5/PS4) (also announced during the Nintendo Direct) - cross play beta out now

Sifu (PS5/PS4) - 2021

Solar Ash (PS5/PS4) - Later 2021

Security Breach (PS5/PS4) - 2021

OddWorld Soulstorm - April 6, 2021

Kena: Bridge of Spirits - August 24, 2021

DeathLoop

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade - June 10, 2021

-Normal (Classic) Difficulty added

- New episode with Yuffie

- Upgrade from PS4 to PS5 for free

This State of Play only clocked in at 30 minutes like they said on Twitter so I knew the announcements weren’t going to be long. The main thing I personally was hype about was Kena: Bridge of Spirits! They honestly showed that game in their State of Play in June of 2020 but the hype for that game carried over to now, and the fact that it’s coming out in the summer makes me even more hype! I wasn’t hype for Yuffie in Final Fantasy 7 Remake Integrate but I know a lot of people are, specifically squad members Frosty Phenix and CorneredFox.

She has an episode coming to the game in early summer of 2021 and with the release of the new FF7 Remake Intergrade, if you have a PS5 then you can upgrade from PS4 for free with no extra cost!

This might’ve been better than the Nintendo Direct because even though we heard about these games already, they looked better than what I saw at the Direct. Hopefully PlayStation has another presentation at the online E3 event this year and I get to see more of the games I wanted to see like Horizon: Forbidden West and the new God of War: Ragnarok. Still can’t wait for Ratchet & Clank to come out! What did y’all think of this presentation, let us know! Until next time y’all, this has been Wav3yGawd, PEACE!
