Squad's Top 5 Anime Picks on Netflix

Hey Squad! I hope everyone is practicing their alchemy, raising their power levels and avoiding having their name put in a Death Note. With Netflix slowly increasing their anime list, I wanted to give you my current top 5 anime picks from Netflix. When you are done binging New Girl for the 3rd time please take the time to check these series out.

5. Death Note

What is an anime without apples and sweets? If you haven’t seen Death Note by now, well I don’t know what to tell you. This anime deserves all the praise and peer pressure you have received for not watching it. The story follows a bored genius, Light Yagami, who finds a way to create the perfect world with help from a Shinigami and a Death Note. The characters are compelling and the action scenes are cool considering there is little action in them. The verdict is out on if season 2 of Death Note is good but I liked it. Put this one on your binge list boys and girls.

4. Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood is the manga adaption of Fullmetal Alchemist and it...is...GOOD! Don’t get me wrong I like Fullmetal Alchemist but this one is even better! All the same characters and voice actors we love and even more action. I feel more anime should get the Brotherhood treatment and be made straight from the manga if they weren’t to begin with. Edward and Al stand even brighter and have greater personalities in Brotherhood. This is a nice way to spend rainy days.

3. Devilman Crybaby

This anime is weird but worth watching. I am not familiar with the older Devilman series so I came into this fresh and it’s weird. It isn’t a bad weird otherwise it wouldn’t be on this list, but it’s the type of weird that makes you keep watching. The main character, Akira, becomes possessed by a devil and becomes Devilman. Unfortunately for him everything that goes wrong can go wrong for him, but he continues to trust in his heart and move forward. Just to give you a squad warning this is a mature title and shouldn’t be watched with your grandma asleep in the room.

2. Seven Deadly Sins

Who knew an anime named the Seven Deadly Sins could be so fun and lovable. This is a tale of the strongest knights in the kingdom and their road to redemption. Every person on this cast has their own motives, past and struggles they need to face to live peacefully. I don’t know about you but this is an anime I’ve heard about for awhile and finally gave a chance. I am so glad I did. Now like everyone else I am waiting for season 2. Boy I cannot wait to lose sleep on this anime again.

1. Your Lie in April

Now this anime took me by surprise I cannot lie. I always considered myself a very action based anime dude, you know the Dragonball Z, Fairy Tale type dude. So for me to put a slice of life anime as number 1 must be saying something. This story follows a young talented pianist, Kousei, on his road back to the stage after meeting Kaori, a full of life violinist. This anime tackles very hard hitting questions in such a poetic way. I was crying at the end of this anime and it wasn’t the single thug tear. I mean it was the ugly keep it in crying. I really enjoyed this anime and might consider watching other animes like this. I lowkey want to get back into piano because of this anime.

These squad were my top 5 anime picks on Netflix. What animes do you watch on Netflix? Let me know what I’m missing in the comments below. I promise you you will not be sorry if you give any of these titles a chance. Until next time, Peace!
